Here is my second hottest #StarWars hot take: The Phantom Menace is the best of the three prequels. Whereas Attack of the Clones and Revenge of the Sith are plot onslaughts which make very little sense, The Phantom Menace holds together. It's just a bit dull.
Which brings me to my hottest hot take: Jar Jar is the best thing about The Phantom Menace. He's just too weird and eccentric for the dull movie he's in and the dull characters he's interacting with. You don't know what to make of his crazy slapstick when it's inserted into scenes about trade routes and tariffs and midichlorians parliamentary procedure, but if they should have kept one of those five things in the movie, it's clearly the slapstick. People want to get rid of Jar Jar, but he's the only thing in that movie with any life in it.

I am really looking forward to Star Wars: Outlaws and really wanting to get the game. Except Ubisoft is making it really difficult for me to want to cough up $70 for a single-player game only to have day one release stuff locked behind a paywall.
At this point, I really am going to wait a year or two for a sale just so to spite Ubisoft. This is a ridiculous cash grab and it shouldn't be encouraged.
