Alles klar, . Produkt wird im "Seagate-Store" bei Amazon angeboten, als Verkäufer wird Amazon selbst gelistet, und Amazon bezeichnet den Verkäufer als “kleines oder mittleres Unternehmen aus Deutschland”.

A former Amazon executive has accused the company of telling her to violate copyright law in order to compete with other tech giants in AI, reports Business Insider.

As part of a wider lawsuit against the company, in which Viviane Ghaderi claims she was discriminated against and ultimately fired for taking maternity leave, Ghaderi says she was told to “ignore legal advice and Amazon’s own policies to get better results” when developing its large-language models.

This lawsuit is a minor headache for . Allegedly a woman was fired for doing her job which was keeping Amazon’s from using content illegally (probably copyrighted material).

Her boss reportedly did not like that “do-gooder attitude” & demoted her, before firing her during maternity leave. This case could open up lawsuits against Amazon’s in the future.

When you think , the image that comes to mind should be .

"Amazon now makes up about 40% of all online retail — the company started raising prices on the products it sells directly."

"Nearly 50% of sellers' revenue goes to Amazon in fees," much of which is passed on as higher prices.

This is a prime example of Monopoly rent as Corey Doctorow, @pluralistic, discussed in a recent piece.

Holy shit Amazon...

Not only is this likely broken, but send up a flare for the porch pirates why don't you?

Computer motherboard box naked with a label laying on a moist porch in full view of the street. Just beckoning porch pirates.

I started watching a new series, this one on Amazon...

Fallout (2024)

I have to admit, I've never played the game, but I'm familiar with some of the imagery.

All the episodes appear to be available at once, but I'm only one show in thus far. There's at least three stories going on, all of which are intriguing. It's violent and contains dark humor. I'm curious to see more.

When +972Mag revealed that Israel was using an called Lavender and trained on faulty data to decide who is or isn't a militant, and another one called Where's Daddy to track them until they were home to kill the whole family, many folks here rightfully wanted to know who was providing the servers and computer infrastructure for that.

Time Magazine now has at least part of the answer: & time.com/6966102/google-contra

The Israeli Ministry of Defense, according to the document, has its own “landing zone” into Google Cloud—a secure entry point to Google-provided computing infrastructure, which would allow the ministry to store and process data, and access AI services.

Dear CEO of #Amazon,

Drone delivery is not exciting news. The only news that would be exciting is if you split two-day shipping out from the Prime subscription and sold it separately. Then I won’t have to pay for all the stuff I don’t want.

The time seems perfect to combine @homeassistant 's and with @PINE64 's hardware with possibly some GPU assisted and some of the awesome new text to speech tools and we could end up with a really powerful , right as and seem to be working hard to their platforms...

Lately I've been watching Barnaby Jones, why-- I dunno, but it showed up on Amazon one day.

I hadn't seen the show until now.

I'm currently on season 3.

Things I've learned since watching...

The intro to Police Squad! makes SO MUCH MORE SENSE now. 🙂 Apparently they used the same announcer.

Anyway, back to Barnaby...

He's hit in the head many times, and usually falls unconscious. Whenever anyone else is hit in the head, it's usually fatal and the focus of that episode. Many people die. There's usually one or more deaths in every episode. Someone always tries to cover it up.

Some of the same guest stars show up in multiple episodes playing different characters such as Nick Nolte and Meg Foster.

Barnaby shoots a lot of people-- practically every week. My absolutely favorite is when someone pulls on a gun on him, and then he distracts them, and pulls a gun on them in return. 🙂 This is also parodied in Police Squad! and the Naked Gun movies.

He drinks milk at every bar. 🙂
