Finally getting around to Dune Part Two, and while it's very good, the casting of Jessica is ridiculous. Great actress, but their age difference is only twelve years, and I keep picturing Bill & Ted saying, "Dude! That's your mom, dude!"

I read #Dune this week for the first time. I wasn't big on reading the SFF classics as a kid, and I'm sorry I deprived myself of this one, because I think I might have liked it even more at that age.
My favorite parts were the trippier bits about the splice and its mind-expanding effects -- way more interesting than a futuristic feudal war between the Atreides and Harkonnens -- so I wonder if I might enjoy the later books in the series. I've heard they get really weird, but my main complaint about the first book is it wasn't weird enough, so.

"Dune 3" is officially in the works. Legendary Entertainment announced yesterday that they are developing a movie, likely to be based on "Dune Messiah." “I would love to make 'Dune Messiah' just to work with [Anya Taylor-Joy] and Florence [Pugh] more," director Denis Villeneuve recently told Entertainment Weekly.
